Need a pig trapper near Elgin

Friend of mine has pig problems. Small acreage. Says he thinks it's just 3-4 hogs. Anybody out there have a portable trap, and willing to travel?

Otherwise, can TP&W or the Aggie Extension Bureau do anything for him?

yeah, your typical 4x4x8 (roughly) box trap.

just have to finish it...been too cold and wet now....and I hope to be hunting this weekend....so....just need a little time to finish it out...

guess he doesn't want anyone hanging out in tripod with corn on the ground and a bow in hand eh?

Well, actually he asked me to do just that. But I basically told him he needs to get them trapped - altogether if possible. A bowhunter like you or I might would get one, then the others come back. Been there, done that.

If you have interest in taking your trap to Elgin, I'll be happy to put you in touch with him.

Tell you what, guys. Chances are, this will not be the only sounder - if indeed there are even enough hogs to call it that - which will be invading his property. From what I've observed, once they find food, they're very likely to come back again and again. Then if somebody kills or traps them, a vacuum occurs, and you know how nature hates a vacuum.

So what happens next? Why, another sounder moves into that territory for the same reason - food.

What I'm saying is that I'm guessing my buddy will be needing help for some time to come. Anybody who's interested in helping him out, just call Doug Dibble at 512-7737913.

He's a horseshoer, and that's his cell. His place is just off a county road a few miles E. of Elgin off Hwy 290. Good luck,

                      AJ

Got in contacted with Doug this morning, good guy.
Probabaly headed out this weekend to take a look at the area and see what we can do. He said he went out this morning and a big one came out the brush and caught him off guard! Then he found a hole with pigglets....so you know how that goes.

Anyways thanks AJ for the contact and the pork!
