To all those that don't like how we hunt, go pound sand. We don't care how you do it up north, (of the red river). If you don't like it here then stay the heck out cause we'll steal your girlfriend, kick your tail and drink all your beer.

It's all good, as long as it's legal. I love hunting a feeder when I'm visiting the in-laws down in Texas.

Having said that, stand placement in wooded environments is not as easy as some would make it sound. Especially if food plots are NOT available. And in the instance where they're not available, which is what my lease in Kentucky is like, I have had to move my stands frequently to find the sweet spots.

I guess I do more hunting than killing, but for me, that is precisely what I enjoy about my lease: I have to scout like crazy and hunt as much as possible in order to learn everything I can about the area I hunt and the animals I pursue.

I really don't see it as either/or, though. Both methods are fun and I guess I'd like to add that if you don't like hearing "Yankees" put down feeder hunting (remember, I'm not one of the naysayers ), then a little reciprocity would be nice, i.e., don't put down other hunting methods.

Maybe the quote of the year. By the way in the first photo I think I saw they're food source- everywhere. Feeders, food plots, corn fields (feed) is the best management tool. I can kill a deer on a trail but it's hard to take inventory and take the most management minded animal. By the way I only hunt feeders with a trail cam don't want to waste time when the could come in " anytime" after the feeder goes off.

I've hunted up north without a feeder and in TX with and without a feeder. I like it all because it's all hunting. The only indisputable things to me are that it's harder to hunt without baiting and deer that eat corn taste better.

Out here in West Texas, we do not look down on those who thoughtfully utilize corn feeders. It never rains out here, so we do not have the LUXURY of planting food plots and feeling smugly superior to those of us who must resort to guarding the corn.
