    Hunting boot insulation

I'm buying a new pair of hunting boots for Texas weather.

What gram insulation would you recommend if you could only have 1 pair?

I get 600 gram then get wool socks and liners. Where I'm at it don't usually stay cold to long

400-600 with good quality socks takes care of late Nov thru Jan hunts. I mostly use uninsulated boots with wool blend socks

My Danners are 800 gram because I'm cold natured when it comes to my hands and feet. They are WAY too much in warm weather. They do well down to about 40 degrees for me, but any colder than that and I have to wear multiple socks and toastie toes boot warmers. YMMV, but for me, I get as much as I can for winter hunting, which is most of my hunting, and just wear my normal work boots in the summer.

Buy any boots you want and put on Arctic Shield Boot Covers. They work like magic. Best $40 I ever spent.
