    Mobile treestand options...

Im looking at doing some camping on public land and walk-in bowhunts this year for pigs and deer. What do you guys recommend for packing in for a long ways? On and off before/after the hunt. Im looking at climbers, hang ons and just discovered this treesaddle thing...

I have no exp using any of these so please give pros/cons.

I hunted out of one of these this year on public land and was really surprised at how compfy it was. Doesnt take the perfect tree to throw up either....I am pretty new to the tree stands so take it for what it is worth....

That ladder looks good. Lone Wolf also makes a great backpacker strap on stand then with a couple Strap on ladder step sections and some limbs you can get up pretty good.

You can put wheels on a ladder stand and walk it in a long way. It can also be used as a cart to pack game out. Here's pictures of one of mine.

Climber is the way to go for what you are talking about. Much lighter and easier to setup than steps, ladders, etc. I have 9 lock ons with tree sticks I now leave setup and 3 climbers. Climbers are much more versatile, quieter to setup/take down, and easier to pack. I have narrowed my three down to Lone Wolf and Summit. Summit for comfort and lonewolf for ease and security.

Im going to post a LoneWolf Alpha and set of LoneWolf Sticks for sell pretty quick.. Its the setup I use on public land.. But, working with Muddy Outdoors now and using one of their awesome stands!

Just arrived today.. The Muddy Outdoors Hunter and set of sticks.. May be sightly heavier than the Lone Wolf setup but the quality is amazing..

Im in Denton so if you feel like checking out the lone wold and muddy side by side before i sell the lone wolf, let me know.. Also, climbers are hard to use on a lot of trees unless they are super tall..But admittedly ive never used one

Every year I get drawn for Hagerman and I haul a climber, my Lone Wolf lightweight aluminum strap-on, rapid rails and a Gametamer hang-on. The Gametamer is heavier but by far the most comfortable and versatile stand in my arsenal and has been hauled out and put up for the last 3 hunts. I can put it up by myself and sit all day and have 360deg shooting ability.
                Beat that!!
And I'm an out of shape 56 yr old "dude"...

The one in the picture is 12' and that is about as tall as you can go with wheels. Any taller and it's just too much trouble to pull it through the woods.

There is no stand easier to put up though. You just lean it against the tree and climb up. It leans at the same angle as a regular ladder, not straight up like the commercial ones do.

I like the idea of a climber but I dont want to be limited by not having climber-friendly trees. Im looking at all of your suggestions, though...

With the hang-on stands, do you need a tree similar to a climber-friendly tree to use those?

No, I have a Muddy hang on. It is adjustable. If the tree leans back a bit adjust the stand to the angle you need. It is lightweight and easy to hang.

What about trees with lots of branches? Do you haul it up then starp it or strap at bottom and slide it up as you climb.

                          Sorry for the noob questions.

Climber is good where there is lots of pine trees... Otherwise I'd go with a very light hang on and sticks.

Might try the Screaming Eaglet made in Montana. Its a small backpack tree stand that is very solid. I lived 25 years in Montana and have bought a dozen or so of these stands through the years. I used to pack one 8 to 10 miles into hunting areas. I only use one kind of tree step and have a special tool that a guy in Arkansas invented to screw in my steps. The stand is small enough that it can go in about any tree you find. Just google Screaming Eagle Treestands. All make in Montana. PM me if you want more info. good luck!!
