It's hard to say , I love it all kinds of hunting . Been going after Dove and there is ducks and goose in the corn field . Made a quick run to Wall Mart for 7 1/2 and 4 steel shot so i can shoot what ever flys over head . The corn is still standing so i'am able to put a stalk on the Snow's .
Once the hunting season ends i just fish .
Cant decide ... love it all .

I love waterfowl hunting because its me,the dog, against the elements.....but when a 400lb elk steps out of the shadows after bugling for 30 minutes, its almost a religious experience

That's a hard one....they are pretty close but I would have to go with duck. Being able to watch my dog work, birds cupped up and landing gears down....and being able to joke around with buddies while I'm hunting. But how hunting is right there behind duck hunting

Yeah I am the same. I love to hunt both. I find deer hunting is easier as you drive out to your place grab your gear and get in a stand. Where I duck hunt I have to get the boat ready, launch it get out there set up decoys etc. it is an even, but you can talk and have a good time with everyone and then be quiet when the ducks come by.

Argueing over who shot what, saying you tripled when you know **** well you shot bad and only hit one just to givek your buddies a hard time and second guess their shooting abilities. Watching your dog run down cripples in shallow water at warp speed or make that long retrieve swimming through whitecaps what seems like a mile out. Watching wave after wave of migrators fly over, highballing and seeing them fall out of the sky and cup up. Shooting then reloading only to empty your gun again at a pace that makes you feel like your in a gun fight. Yeah im gonna go with duckhunting, none of that stuff happens deer hunting. Its pretty cool to shoot a good buck so close you think he can hear your heart beating, so im glad i get to do both.
Couldnt have said it better myself, but I still love the solitude of deer hunting.

I try to consider myself a sportsman, so why make make a choice.

I like both for different reasons, waterfowl because it's close and relatively cheap to do and deer hunting because it's a entirely different discipline of hunting that challenges your stealth.

If they were both the same I'd go waterfowl just because it's closer to home

Easy one for me. Deer hunting by far. Don't get me wrong, I miss hunting ducks and geese when I lived in Oregon, but deer hunting is a lot more fun.

Nothing like sitting 30 feet up a tree and haven't seen anything all morning, then spot a pack of does creeping through the forest and praying they come closer to give you a shot.

i would rather pay big bucks for a whitetail hunt that a duck hunt anyday...I would much rather be sittin in a bowstand than a duck blind. BUT I do love to shoot ducks

Deer hunting for "alone" time and duck/goose hunting for the times when you like to hunt with your friends and have a good time.

I went duck hunting for the first time in a long time, a couple of weeks ago. Don't want anymore walk in hunts that involve wading in nearly knee deep mud for any distance ever again

Turkey.....oh wait, that wasn't an option was it. Sorry.

Seriously though, deer is favorite but duck is still great. I would like to do more of it.

I grew up duck hunting here on the coast and have been guiding for two private duck camps for the last 15 years. I've only been deer hunting seriously for about five years. I find myself wanting to deer hunt way more than duck hunt. I think my feelings are due to the fact that I have been duck hunting so much longer AND the fact that duck hunting became a second job instead of something I used to do with my buddies win I was a kid. That's a hard one. I know how to duck hunt but it sure is fun learning about deer too. Lungbustr brings up some great points though

Ducks hands down but since duckhunting in my area is down I found myself climbing in a tree alot this year. I shot my biggest buck ever this year a nice 9.

Duck hunting.Guiding and outfitting here in Colorado turned big game hunting into WORK for me. For fun hunting now, I grab the dekes, the lab, a thermos of coffee, a buddy or two, and away we go!

Sipping coffee while the sunrises, laughing at your friends missing (and getting tormented when you miss), seeing if you can get a flock of ducks to do what you want, watching the dog work, telling fart jokes, etc. is hard to beat.
