Breeding Doe offspring back with their Father reinforces positive genetic transfer, although, it may have some largely unnoticed side effects. Dog breeders have been doing this for years. It is because Doe tend to carry a larger portion of the genetic code than the buck.

For here the time was right to breed and there must have been a young buck who was an eager beaver. Over populations and strange environmental conditions will cause this to happen from time to time.

If she still had milk teeth, then she is 1.5 yoa.

She was bred as a fawn... and with twins. Rare

Congrats on the nice 405 yd shot!

The breeding season is out of whack. I saw fawns in early bow season and fawns last a few weeks ago with spots. Year before last i saw a 3.5 8 point chasing a doe on March 1st. It happens.

Why would he tag all 3? Actually on MLD he didn't tag any.

My boss and I witnessed breeding in mid August in 2007. I thought i was seeing things and was glad to have an eye witness. Wild stuff man!

Its rare, but it does happen. I've also seen bucks still chasing does in March/April before. Again, its not common, but it has been known to happen.

Is it possible that the fawns died in the womb right before they were to be born and thats why she was still carrying them? Not sure if that would be the case or not as I am not medically inclined but just a thought.
