**Help Design a Knife - suggestions?

I'm starting a few new projects for January and going to give the details of two others in the DIY but I'd like suggestions for one of them (all are Damascus steel but two have not been acid treated yet.) This knife is going to be the middle one - a Guthook skinner I've called "The Texas Diamondback"
(That top one is a new design we're working on called the "Sheriff's Stubby")

I'd like some input on which wood I use on the handle. So far, I've finished the blade (mostly) and have done a triangular diamondback filework design on the spine. I'm also planning to add an inlayed Texas Seal in the handle on both sides - given the theme, I thought it was a no-brainer to use the mesquite but am tempted to go with amboyna burl.

Take a look and and comment on which wood you like best and I'll update later as we make progress!! thanks for the suggestions! Below is a pic of the blade and the two woods:

The amboyna burl is my favorite wood, but I'd have to go with the mesquite for that knife.

Very nice looking blades, I'd pick Mesquite.

I like the gut hook and the burl I believe, the 2 tone swirl!!!!! That wood is awesome, I'd buy a stock in a heartbeat for my 257 weatherby in that wood!

Texas Ebony, real dark piece as well with a white streak in it. PM Rubydog on here. He comes up with the prettiest of woods and I'm sure he could get you the perfect piece.

I've used some Texas ebony and it's certainly some pretty wood...looks like the burl may be winning though...

I'd love to see that myself if you ever have it done! Rubydog could probably get you the wood - don't think I have the time to make it though - awesome idea!
