Found a new big boy hobby, when not shooting. Can any of you RC folks, intro me on these two? Thx in advance folks, our dogs are going to have fun chasing these things around the yard, the wife may not like it tho.

My boys are into RC trucks.

All I know is they have maxxis trucks and go electric. Gas sux!

We even built a huge track at the lease! This summer it was impossible to keep the dirt moist enough to run on. Dust is tough on electric motors.

I heard about Nitro Nor gas not good, but. Me & wife like taking our dogs to the lake, I'd like to stay charged up incase, I go with the Elect ones. How can I keep the batts charged up, when away from the house to the lake for a day trip? thx.

I had two sets of batts. Hook one up to the chargers while I run the others. Just hook the chargers to my car battery

Uh oh, you're in TROUBLE. I've flown R/C planes, raced R/C boats and every form of R/C car imaginable and in every scale. All I can say is welcome to the addiction. Of the two, the E-MAXX is certainly the more appealing. With the Lipo battery revolution over the last couple years, nitro no longer has the draw it once did. Cleaner, faster and more easily worked on by more age groups are the pluses. However, batteries can be both expensive and dangerous. Lithium polymer batteries take special care or bad things can happen if neglected. Both trucks are considered bashers and are a complete blast to drive. Have you looked into the E-REVO? Either way, you cannot go wrong with Traxxas. They are based out of Dallas and their customer service is some of the best in the entire R/C industry. Lots of part support too so you'll always be able to repair and play more. Good choice either way.

Thx for the inputs on Traxxas , went to hobby town to check out some Traxxas models including the E-REVO. I may go with E-Maxx just for use around lakes. Are they any good around water just incase?
