I've always used pretty much curs but do have a couple lacys and there pretty dang good to. and for catch dogs i think pits or american bulldogs are best. go check out easttexashogdoggers.com and you'll learn alot about it. just like TBH just for hogdoggers

We have 2 y.b.m.c. & an airdale bmc cross, for a catch dog. Runnin hogs is addicting. Check out boardogs.com, I started runnin dogs with an Australian fella & he turned me on to that site,

Ive seen many use bmc, cat, leopard cat, dogos, pits. These are the most common hog dogs. Even great dane are called boarhounds but dont see very often like they say back in medieval time/era. Even cane corsos! Ull get many different responses from each individuals. No guarantees though. It takes lots of hands on training and tons of money to keep five, six, seven dogs fed, vacs, vests, collars, kennels, vet trips unless you can sew back up ur dogs, or whatever. Many factors goes in when ure raising ur own hog dogs. Good luck. It can b rewarding n fun, though!

Its all gonna depend on what type of hunting you want to do, and find a breed that suit's you! Hounds hunt waaaay out to the next county we have all Catahoula's and love the type of hunting they do. Just find one that suit's your style. Those Jagd Terriers are some bad little dudes. Small but not scared of anything.

If I were you I would run catahoula bmc ridgebacks maybe hound mix. And run pits as your catch
