    Buffalo Gap/Tuscola area hunting?

Just got on a new lease in the Buffalo Gap/Tuscola area? If anyone is familiar or hunts in the area I would like to know what to expect.

How far are you from the state park?

Maybe 5 miles, as a crow flies

Some areas are really good and others are not. I grew up in Abilene and hunted all over the area. There are lots of deer around the state park area and Lake Abilene. But you should not have a problem seeing deer most of the time in that country.

Hunted 6 miles sw of the allsups in tuscola. Left the lease due to bad landowner, it was ok. Would have been better if him and his two sons wouldn't have hunted during the week? Like we would not notice 7mm casings under our tripods and caught them checking our feeders on game cams?

I was born and raised in Abilene and live by Tuscola now. We have a family place South of Tuscola and I lease a small place near BGap. TONS of deer near the state park. Average for decent buck would be in the 120's with the occasional 130-140. The only problem is all the small tracts of land. Some bigger places near Lake Abilene that I've hunted hold nice bucks every year. PM me if you need anything else. Kelsey

I hunt just south of Ovalohunter. This year has been real bad for deer hunting on our property. There were plenty of bucks before the season, but all the decent ones left during October. Pretty sure they will be back next weekend, now that it's doe and spike season. Plenty of hogs.

Yup!! I saw plenty of shooters before the season opened and a few during season ON CAM. Only shooter I saw during shooting hours was 70 yards away.
