    Deer and Fog

I thought I'd be covered in deer this morning. So far nothing.

There is a very heavy fog. Does anyone know what effect, if any, fog has on deer?

I have always heard to be ready for when the fog lifts then they will start moving once they can see better.

I have actually had the opposite reaction from deer. I have noticed that when it is drizzling and/or foggy it seems like I see more deer. I just had 5 does at the feeder here in Grimes county.

I've never had good luck when there was a heavy fog. A light fog with a little cold drizzle is another thing though.

          Heavy fog: Can't see feeder.
Light fog: can see at least 200yds.

My son killed his deer during the heavy fog yesterday morning. Works for him.

Yep. Funny how often it happens that way. I think deer behavior is much less predictable that people think. And their behavior varies greatly by subspecies and environment.

I've shot a lot of deer in fog. I think part of the problem is they may be close but you can't see em.

Fog makes big boy hang out a little longer. IMHO and experience (although many times I don't see him..)
