    Need help!!! Have a question.

Does anyone know where I can find tracking string. We used to use it in the late 80's and 90's but it seems I can't find it any more, and my local archery shop says they haven't carried it in years. This is the string that you attach to your bow and arrow and the arrow pulls the string through the animal when it hits. I want to use this stuff on pigs at night as they don't leave good blood trails and I won't be able to see where they enter in the woods.

The model of tracking string I used to get was made by Martin and was called "string tracker". There was a thread posted on here the other day with a trad archer that still used string trackers. Sir, if you read this could you tell me where you got those please?

Does anyone else have any info? Any would be appreciated. Thank you.

You might want to put this over in the trad section also. Some those trad'rs don't come out of the trad section. Sorry thats all the help I got.

I saw this online but I only need the insert spool because I tape it to my existing stabilizer. I won't shoot this stuff all the time, just at night and only at pigs. Thank you though.

Check Lancaster and some of the other online sites.

Shoot it first, my experience with it is that it doesn't do well with today's faster bows.

I've only used them at extremely close range, like 12 yards, they get a little moody out at 20 and hit really low (dead on at 20 yards with my 30 yard pin) other than that they work like a champ. I haven't used them in years but there were a few deer they we would have never found had those deer not had the tracking string stuck in them.

Yeah, once you figure out what it's called you can generally find it. Good luck and let us know how it works. REMEMBER, no pics, didn't happen

You might also want to check Saunder's Archery site and get you some of the little fish hook looking things that go on the front of the arrow. If the arrow goes through, the hook sticks in them so you only have one line in them instead of the line sliding through them as they run. They work great.
