    Pere David Deer

I shot this in November. It's a Pere David's Deer. Thought I'd share since it's unique. Atleast to me it was. It was on a high fence as they are not free ranging any where. I got the meat back and it's delicious, I'd compare it to Elk. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Heading down to a lease in Encinal and try again for some more deer hunting. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Sweet. How much do those weigh? Gotta be around 1,000 lbs.

Pretty cool that we can hunt an animal that is technically "extinct"! How about these Texas ranches and the value associated with hunting?

that's cool. i thought that there was some free ranging in Patagonia, but protected by the govornment. either it is really unique. way to go.

They're free ranging but not native in Argentina, Tommy. You are correct. Not sure if you can hunt them.

This is true ^ But I didn't want to get too detailed. I learned the history about them after getting the opportunity to hunt one. They have a really cool background.

Around 400 to 500 lbs. I know they used gin poles and a winch to load it.

They're an interesting water lovin' creature! Congrats on a really nice representative.
