    Titanium Rage broadheads

I know they (Rage Titanium 2 blade head) are expensive but... Besides that, who has used them and what was your opinion ?

Looks like "the juan 12" just shot a javi in his thread with one. He's got a pic of entrance wound. Dropped the javi drt. Check it out...

My experience has been very good. Been shooting rage for a few years with very good results. You'll either love them or hate them apparently...

I shoot Rage so I'm certainly not bashing but what makes the Titanium twice as good as the normal Rage?

I reserve the right to be wrong here but it just seems very gimicky (is that even a word???).

Let's see, a Rage will usually put a 2" hole in a pass through but the new Titanium Rage will put a 2" hole in a pass through. The advertisement for the blades on Cabela's says it creates a devastating 2" wound...... at $80 for three of them. That is as opposed to a devastating 2" wound from $30 regular steel ones.

Yep, gimicky must be a word.

I guess if they kept their razor edge for about 4 animials, it might be tempting.

The titanium heads will take little more abuse then regular ones. That's about it.
Honestly they don't seem worth the $.
Not when I can have 6 heads for the price of 3.

i could be wrong, but I think they developed them in order to combat the image that Rage has developed for being weak due to the aluminum ferrule on the regular rage and their (supposed) bad performance when hitting heavy bone due to the large diameter of the ferrule on the regular Rage. The titanium is stronger than steel, though I have had Rage blades perform less than spectacularly (all still killed quickly), I've never had a Rage ferrule bend or break when shot into meat - so I think that it's all about maintaining 100 grains and being able to say "stronger". I will say that I think the titaniums might perform better when hitting the scapula or other heavy bone due to the smaller ferrule diameter - though I don't have any personal experience to speak of other than perfect shots : )

Thanks Peter, for turning me onto the Rage broadhead. I may switch mechanicals again, though it will not be because they don't work.

Think I may order a pack and give them a shot...if you look online you can find them for less than $80.

And TVC, I think only the ferrule is titanium - blades are same old Rage blades

Thanks Porterhouse. That's what I was kinda wondering about ( maybe a little better penetration in a shoulder)
I've shot couple hogs and a doe with the regular 2 blade Rage with great success but,I shot a buck and only had a entry hole. I got the buck and he only went about 50 yards but the bloodtrail wasnt good so it worried me. This is what got me to thinking about the titanium model.

I was reading the reviews on it and the ferrule is the titanium part. The ferrule is thinner and lighter so they put a slightly larger cut on contact (or as they call it, "instant cut") tip.

Is a thinner ferrule worth $30-$50 more per three packs? It would not be for me and especially if the blades don't last any longer but if someone doesn't mind the cost of blades, go for it.

If someone is already getting pass through shots with their "regular" Rages, will another Rage at any price perform any better?

Thats what i have wondered. The main reason i quit shooting them was due to that weak ferrul on the aluminums. Thats from personal experience not hear say or an opinion based on bs. Ive often thought the Ti's would take alot more abuse when you get into heavier bone and not break. Well, not break as easily.

Titanium is not necessarily stronger than steel. There are lots of steels that have higher strength. Titanium is lighter than steel. Titanium is usually stronger than aluminum.
