      Anyone shoot these?

Does anyone shoot Barnes Vor-tx tsx bullets? Im thinking about buying this type in 80gr for my 243. Any reviews?

Try the lighter 150gr. bullets. They should give you better expansion. Two holes are better than one for blood trails but I like to be able to put my fist through an exit hole.

I have never had a problem with regular old soft points or core locks on deer size game.
Ive never seen a reason to use the BT loads.

I'm a Barnes TS fan after dropping my first Elk with a home rolled load. Devastating internal damage and fantastic accuracy. Elk was DRT. They are expensive but well worth the price IMO.

+1. No need to get fancy if you're shooting a 30cal. 150gr Corelokts in my 30-06 are 4 for 4 this year with bang flops. Even my longest shot (177yds) **** near blew the far leg off with a hit to the far shoulder.

This shot placement will usually drop a deer in its tracks. You are taking out both shoulders. Even if its not DRT, its not going far without it's front wheels. I wouldn't try this shot with a small caliber Ballistic Tip. You will get a nasty superfial wound that likely won't reach the vitals. A good bonded core or soft tip in 25 cal. or larger will likely get both shoulders. This is where my cousin instructs all his hunters to shoot their bucks......but these are 180-220" deer that they are paying big money for. Ruining meat isn't really an issue with them.

Ballistic tips are great bullets for deer if you don't like exit wounds and having to worry about messy blood trails
