Duck Commander Classic. It's his original design. Cost about $20. It's easy to blow and very forgiving. I'd say it's a good starter call.

RNT makes a call and CD combo that is great for learning .

I grew up using Haydel calls and still have several on my lanyard today

DR85 - dbl reed that blows wet

You can follow this vid and practice calling by using the words : hoot, tin, or guit

^^^^^^Real hard to beat a DR85 for simplicity to blow.

I learned on a Haydel DR 85 and still carry one on my lanyard. My go too calls are RNT and Cache River for big ducks but the Dr85 is versatile enough to chinch down and teal call also.

Haydels DR-85!!! About $16 and have a great sound! I have plenty of custom $150 acrylic's on my desk but Ive been using the same DR-88 for the past 13 years!

Yep, Haydel DR-85. I've been using one for 10 years. It kills em dead.

Duck Commander Classic or the Haydle DR-85. Bought my 1st DR-85 back when he first started producing them . Two most simplest calls to use or learn the basics with. Both are double reed.
