Single pin sight

I have an HHA bought last year and love shooting it at targets and 3D. It is also great hunting from a stand with relatively known distances +- a yard or two. I can group at 60 yards much better than I ever could before. HOWEVER, when hunting spot and stalk such as elk, I have a bit of trouble remembering to dial it in to the correct range. For spot and stalk I still much prefer the traditional pins. I would suggest getting a lesser priced one to start with to see if you really like it. HHA's are a bit pricey and a shame to spend that much if you decide you do not like it. I love both single pins and multiple pins but both have their applications in my opinion.

Try this, it works. Sight in for 20,30,40,50. When you shoot unmarked distance or spot and stalk hunting, put pin at 40 yards for 20-40, The trajectory tables explain why it's different than shooting 40 yards with your pin at 20.
It works well for spot and stalk hunting. Obviously if you know the exact distance, set it.

It was simple to set up and quick. All you do is sight in and make adjustments at 20 yards (or whatever yardage you start at). It is simple and easy to make adjustments as well. After that you just find your next mark (in my case 30 yd) by moving the slider until you are hitting dead on. Mark the tape and you are set!
Really simple and awesome. Wish I would have made the change earlier. For me the best thing was that I had a better view of my target (especially the small bullseye) past 20 yd which is something I struggled with my multi pin sight. There is no pin clutter and the pin is bright even in low light conditions. The light on the pin also makes the pin visible in low light conditions. Overall it is a great sight and I don't think I'll be going back to a multi pin sight. If you're thinking of getting one get one. I will be trying it out on some jack rabbits this weekends so lets see how it does on field. Also convinced my dad to go buy!
