Finally got my first bow kill!!! An opossum in my boyfriend's (Joey/ Viper) parents back yard. 20 yards, and my rage 2 blade went through and through!!! A second opossum came out and I shot her too! She was pinned to the fence, but she got off my arrow, crawled under the fence and died in the neighbors back yard. Then viper and I went out to his ranch. I sat in a blind hoping to arrow a doe. Over 30 turkeys flooded the feeder when it went off, but I never got a clear shot at a Jake. A few does and spikes peeked around the corner of the field, but never came out far enough to give me a shot. We went walking around the ranch and we came across a few does, Joey offered to let me take the shot, and I eagerly accepted. The last deer Joey shot with his 270, the ribs were completely destroyed, so I decided to shoot her in the head. Effective, but not a pretty sight, especially if you want to take pictures with the deer after. Regardless, christmas break is off to a great start and I'm excited to finally post my "my first deer" post!!!
