    Tell me why...........

You can disconnect a couple of wires, take couple of bolts out and change out an alternator or A/C compressor. But you have to take half the durn motor apart to put a power steering pump on?

They want you to take vehicle to the dealership,so they can charge you 105.00$ an hour to fix it.

The Chinese and Japanese manufacturers don't have that problem with their little hands

Try taking a starter out of an 05 tundra.

They put it under the intake.

I used to have a 1982 s-10 PU. To change the starter you had to remove right side motor mount and jack the engine up to get it off.

Not all engineers are maintenance minded. Back in the day, compact cars did not exist. You could literally sit in the engine compartment and work on it. Basic engine design hasn't changed, but cars have. That engine compartment has collapsed, but components haven't moved.

The worst is changing the oil on a lexus suv. The filter is very hard to get out and needs a special tool. Why make the most often component that hard to change? In that case, I think money, because it's on the upper half...not conventional.

AND, I bought a front CV axle for 36 dollars.

Did the water pump last weekend. The only difference was this time I didn't have to pull the radiator. Surely they could come up with a different style of bracket to make this easier.
