Buck stabbed with Antler???

Downloaded my camera this weekend and came across this nice buck with an injury to his neck.

It looks like an antler? A serious fight….has anyone ever seen a mainbeam break off inside another buck?

Do you think it may be that deer from other thread, the one that got shot in the neck, fell down then got up and walked away? I think you may have found him!

we see deer that are gored every year. usually it's in the rear end somewhere. Typically what happens is a 3rd deer comes in and takes a cheap shot while two other bucks are fighting.

How about maybe a stick? Years ago on a spring turkey hunt in Louisiana I found a buck
that look like he was jumping over stuff on the edge of clear cut and literally skewered himself. The stick was about 3/4 to one inch thick it went in through his neck and was poking in the skin past his ribs.it was broken off and about a foot was sticking out of his neck.That was by far the most weird thing i've seen in the woods.

Dang! One of my buddies has a buck coming to his feeder with his lower lip about torn off. He got off light compared to that hole in the neck buck.

I have seen internet pics of a buck with part of a main beam stuck in the skull of another buck just below the eye socket, broke clean off.

I'd shoot him and mount him with that antler in his neck. That would be a great story and awesome mount.

I have seen one gored first hand and it looked very painful, flank injury. He didn't break an antler in him, but I am sure it happens on occasion. Had the goree show up later and he had blood running down his side from the injury. Healed up and lived to see another year.
