I agree justins are the best for your money. There work wonders on cactus and mesquite. Almost every one I know where's them year around because even if the snakes aren't in sight they are there and Texas has plenty of cactus and various angry prickly plants.

On a side note then will help with ticks and chiggers too.

Wear them year around. Cactus, rocks, waterproof, etc...and that "one snake bite. But, as stated above " they are dammm sexy with shorts!

Have Chippewa and forever last boots and now a gander mountain boot...I always wear them...they came in good use down in south Texas at our public hunt at laguna atascosa and needless to say they worked bc in that thick brush my little bro stepped on a corral snake that was a little unhappy to say the least!

I will own a pair next year for sure. Beginning of cold season I stepped on a rattle snake and he only missed my leg by inches. Couple years ago another guy on our lease got bit but thankfully it was a dry bite

I do... Chippewa's. Going on my 5th year and they are holding up good. And I put allot of hours on them.

Great on thorns and stickers. No opinion on how they hold up to a snake bite, but that is fine by me. :-)

I wear my chips every time I go out in the woods year round. I have not seen a snake while wearing my snake boots. SO as far as I am concerned they are working just fine.

Wear mine everytime at lease. I have found that since I started wearing them the last 2 yrs I get more done at lease. Not as concerned with the snake I can't see or hear.

I wear a red head brand, because it is only pair that fits. Have no other experience with other brands.

Try to get my 30 yr old son to wear them, but he is too young and doesn't get it yet.

I wear em almost year round. Chippewas are my brand of choice. Had this particular set for 5 years, held up extremely well.
