they are crap with leupold name on it! A good friend of mine in illinois bought one and it was a booger just to get set up at twenty yards and started to rattle internally shortly after hunting with it. He took it back and got his money back. Sounds like a good idea but way to many things to leave it to chance. JMO

They are not legal for game animals in Texas. And they do not have much feedback either.

You mean the Leoupold's Vendetta? Not legal in Texas!? Wow...I never knew that. I've always seen it on the commercial and at Academy but never that I'd need one so bad enough to buy it. Now, I know it's not any good and save money in my pocket. Thanks!

McCoy. When did they change it. It projects a visible laser to align it and the laser cannot be disabled during normal operation. They even have signage up in places that sell them saying it is not legal for game animals.

There seems to be some differences. I spoke a group of 4 GW, one made a phone call and answered with no they are not legal in Tx. Not sure who he spoke with. They all agreed that if the lazer was off before the shot it could be legal. I would check on this a bunch with names and such before hunting with it........just sayin

IF the laser could be disabled or removed then yeah it would be fine. But leaving it up to the hunters is a sure fire recipe for disaster!!

The only time the laser is on is when you are sighting it in you turn laser off to hunt.go to leoupolds web sight there i a video showing you how to work it

But you can turn the laser back on at any time. And projecting light of any kind on game animals is illegal. If it could be permanently disabled after set up it would be fine. And that is what makes it a major no no.

it serves the same purpose as a bore sight.. thats why theres a way to disable it so your within the law.. the law states that it has to be off while taking game animal so therefor if the laser is disabled i.e. in the off position that serves the purpose of the law... pretty simple no need to out think the room
