Don't just read it to say you read the info. Stop reading when you notice you don't remember or understand what you have just read. Doing this will help you remember all the info.

I graduated from 4 years of undergraduate college and then an additional 4 years of pharmacy school. I did it by defining my learning style.

You need to define your learning style...auditory or visiual? If your auditory, you learn best by listening is class....you must attend every class and listen intently during class to pick up on the info.
If you visual, attend class, take notes. Here is the hard part.....you are going to have to read over your notes and the book material multiple times so that your brain gradually soaks up the info more and more each time you review it.

        Good luck my friend!!!!

I agree with 32drawlength... The most important thing is figuring out HOW you learn best. There are many different ways to learn material, and people all learn differently.

32drawlength has good info. Last semester when I was in Anatomy and Physiology (A&P)I started out with 60's and 70's on tests. I spoke with my professor and I mentioned to her maybe this is over my head. I haven't been in college for 9 years, need to finish a degree since I retired from military. Anyway she said stick with it and I changed my study habits. I lived A&P and ended up with a 88.74 a B final grade. I recorded the lectures in case I missed something in class. She also sent us her power point presentations prior to class so we could review what was going to be taught. I also seperated myself from the computer and family when I had a test to review for. Stick with it and review your study habits prior to spring semester. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it will get brighter. This is what I told myself when I went through military boot camp and I did graduate. Good Luck

I have a few things that always seemed to help me, even though I'm one of those that retains info well, if I'm not interested, I tend to zone out. The first thing I did was to turn ON the stereo. I know it doesn't make sense at first, but it works for me. No, I didn't listen to rock, country or anything with words to sing along with.....classical music. My brain would tie what I was studying to a particular part of a song, then at test time, I'd come to a question, and that song would pop into my head and suddenly I'd remember the material.

Second, read SLOW. Kaitlin makes fun of me because I'm a slow reader. In reality, I can read just as fast as she can, but I stop at the end of each sentence and think about that sentence for a second to process just exactly what it means. I also do not get to a tough word and skim it like some people do. I've listened to people read a sentence and it makes no sense to me, then I look at it and they had misread a word and replaced it with a different word when they read out loud. If you don't know what a word means, stop there and look it up, then go back and re-read with understanding.

Read a paragraph, then try to summarize it in your head. If you can't remember what the paragraph was about, re-read it. If you still can't remember, stop and take a study break for 30 minutes or so, go eat a snack, whatever it takes to get your mind off of studying for a short while, then go back to it.

I often find myself reading a line, getting to the end of the line and returning to the beginning of the next line, only to realize about 1/2 way through that I'm reading the same line I just read.....that's my sign that I'm getting tired and just "going through the motions" and not retaining anything. It's time to stop and do something else for a while.

Above all, don't read words, read thoughts. Anybody can read all the words, but if you don't put them together into an understandable thought, they're just words.

When I need to learn something, I write it down. After that I read it out loud to myself.

Nothing will help you study better than knowing what God wants you to do in life and the first thing is to know about Jesus Christ and that He should be first in you life and then the Holy Sprite will help you in all of your life. If you were to go to Heven and God ask you "Why sould I let you into My heven?" What would you say?
