I mostly deer, turkey, dove, and qail hunt. But I have never been on a duck hunt. I was wondering if anyone would not mind letting me tag along and pitch in for gas and beer. We can take my 2500 if need be to pull boat or gear. I also would like to take my sister and brother if there's room. Please PM me so I do not get bumped!! Happened before... LOL!!

You really have to go to the coast area if you want some geese... Other than that unless it's private land not a lot of people are going to want to show there spots.... Just my experience.. -

the water levels in the Centex/Austin area were at an all time low...I didnt make a trip home this year because you could literally walk across one of the tanks because there was no water...the only other choices are to hunt public and you cant do that without a boat and fighting the crowdComment

Austin/central area is a tough place to duck hunt even with water. It holds birds but not like those more in line with the Central flywayComment

Man I don't know what y'all are talking about. Josey has hinted from north Austin to seguin in the last month atleast 2 times a week with 4 to 5 guys and has limited out every time. Heck I've got over 40 birds in my freezer that he has brought me. Nothing fancy, gadwall teal wigeon and woodys mainly. And my BIL is killing geese and sandhills all over the Hondo and Castorville area.
With the holidays me and Josey won't be around but I will tell ya if ya want to hunt a easy accessible area hit the river with a johnboat just under the 130 bridge out by the airport and go east about a 800 yds. He has kayaked in there 3 times and limited out FAST.Comment
