    My peep turned too far

I have spent the last 2 weeks hunting a 4 1/2 y 8 point I call Lucky So named because about 3 weeks ago someone hit him just in front of the shoulder and in the very bottom of the neck, takinking a small chunck of meat out but leaving him living.

Over the last 2 weeks he had not shown up his regular feeder of had shown in very poor light. Finally Sunday morning after a spike had picked up all the corn and left, Lucky walked out about 8 AM . It was cloudy, drizzly and fairly quite. I knew that he would not hang around long being as there was on corn left. As he walked behind the feeder I managed to get the video camera turned on. Walked under the feeder broadside but ever so slightly quartering away. I drew and wnet to place the pin where it should be and there was nothing but a blob on my string. I let down (not a easy task with him there) checked the peep for dirt and drew again, Nothing. The secound time I let down I bumped something and he walked off.

I tried drawing several more times in the blind with the same results. For some reason my peep is now over rotating 1/2 turn. Any ideas?

    String stretched.

That can be so frustrating. Options:

    1. Perhaps go to a thicker, pre-stretched, custom string that resists peep turn.
    2. Cheaper solution: Use a peep that is kept in place by a length of tubing. You bow will not be as quiet but it may solve peep rotation.

d loop may have been loose enough to allow the string to twist.

completely normal especially if it's a newer bow.

        a. take the bow in have them check the tuning, then re-set and re-serve the peep
        b. just turn it back but know that it'll work itself back to it's new home position
        c. add a d loop . . . . not only fixes the peep issue but has other advantages as well

I'm not a fan of putting material on the peep to have it turn

I am shooting with a D loop and it is actually twisting past the loop. I do not get to hunt next weekend, so I plan to be at Double G sat. morning. I am not happy with the service available in Waco . The bow is about 6 years old.

Rotate the loop on the string.

using a Dloop which is tight on the bowstring is the easiest solution. but I know what you mean. I have had some Dloops that would twist on the bowstring and would not hold tight to it. To get you back in business, you may wish to tie another Dloop on. Or if your serving is good on the bowstring in the area, when you tie the Dloop on you can rotate the Dloop to the correct orientation for your peep and then superglue it to the serving. not the best way to go; but it will hold your loop in the correct position for you.
