Well crap, it was bound to happen- shattered iPhone screen!

Pulling it out of my pants pocket yesterday and fat fingered it, dropping it on the caliche road. It landed completely flat on the front face, with a little sharp rock hitting it just at the upper edge of the visible screen, right in the middle from left to right. The screen protector on the Lifeproof case is the only thing holding it all together. Amazingly enough, it all still works, just a major PITA to read.

Has anyone replaced one of the screens? I'm upgrade eligible, but I'd rather not drop the 2 bills on a 4S, and wait for the next one to come out.

if its a 3g or 3gs then yeah they are really easy to replace. will cost ya about 5-10 bucks for parts on ebay for a kit. then follow directions from youtube.

that's a pretty good deal considering.

when i did the same to mine (3GS) i googled you tube found a video showing how. then found parts on amazon. cost about what k9trainer posted. it's not hard to do once you see what's involved.

If it is an iphone 4 it is alittle more pricey....I shattered mine about a month ago, I took it to a repair shop and had it done, it was around $80.00.

So with that expensive case still on, it still broke?

Holy crap! An $80 case should have some kind of insurance or high powered replacement policy! Might as well have just been a silicone skin!
