    How late do you rattle?

How late in the season do you rattle? Bleat call?

The last several weeks I've been using the Primos original can, bleating. Last weekend I was using a rattle bag. I'm hunting in Houston Co, and I think the rut is winding down. I've never done much whitetail hunting before, and I've never used calls or a rattle bag before. Whether I use em or not, nothing's coming to my set up. Just looking for some guidance. Tired of being bored out of my mind seeing abso-freaking-lutely nothing out there.

Do yall go all the way to the end of Dec? Rattling/calling? Would a buck respond that late in the season? All I can shoot are bucks now (AR counties)... :/

I have heard late, late in the season, sometimes a soft grunt will work when the bucks are worn down and looking for company. But also remember, 28 days after the first estrous cycle, unbread does come back into heat. The little bucks have usually given up by now, but the big boys are still lookin

If you are not seeing anything then move. If you have the ability to go look in areas that no one hunts, then go look for fresh sign. I am getting a lot of good buck activity on scrapes right now in very low impact areas in between the heavily hunted zones. These are day light shots but they are not near feeders. I tried to convince my wife that if I took 5 days off that I felt like I could kill my big deer I am hunting within 3 days. She gave me the evil look and I gave up.

The times on these shots are an hour earlier than what it shows, I guess I never reset my camera with the time change.

Rattling for BIG deer works BEST after the 1st rut is over and before the second rut starts but you need to get away from your permanent setups.
