5.11 Tactical Watch - Tell me about it

So, I was at Gander Mtn replacing my missing winter hat yesterday over lunch....

Wander around the store I came across this watch, "5.11 Tactical HRT Titanium Watch"

Seemed pretty cool, can put in rifle data for BDC.

Who has experience with this watch? Good / bad?

Might have found my xmas hint to the wife....

Just read the instruction manual online. Looks like this watch does the calculations, however you still have to supply it with temp and atlitude, I would have thought the watch would come with these sensors.

IMO, the iphone has these same types of apps and most are free or < $10

the 5.11 watch is cool yet I don't need a $300 watch to tell time or let me know bullet drop calculations

I agree at $250 it is pricey, but I'm in the market for a new watch, a G-shock is over $100 and I tear them up too...

Seeing if this is any better, at least it has a feature I haven't seen before. I'm suprised it doesn't include the temp. and altitude for the price...

I haven't looked into any calculators on the iPhone, that is a good idea too.

At the same time, I have been shooting all my life without a calculator.

i have istrelok app on my iphone , plug in the data and it gives you adjustments and clicks needed based on yardage.

also has around 15 different reticals where the yardages are pictured for holdover - see below

I'm sure they have my "flavors" covered...

Only down side I see to the app is having to keep the iPhone in the pocket while hiking.

But sure looks dummy proof on your screenshot.
