I'm a teacher in San Antonio. This year I lost the family place I've always hunted on. After sitting out this year I'm really wanting to get a lease next season. I don't necessarily need anything huge and spectacular. I'm hoping somebody can give me an idea about what to expect for the cost. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

A good rule of thumb is to base the lease on a per acre number.
I see many that show a lease as so much per hunter or whatever.
Some idiot will have 200 acres and want to charge 4 guys $2k per hunter or some such number. That is $40 per acre which is rediculous.
All this will vary depending on the area you want to hunt in.
Generally a good piece of property will fetch at least $8-12 per acre on the bottom end and go up from there.
Small tracts can vary alot.
More acres will generally net you a lesser per acre amount.
