I built me a tree stand today

I used a bunch of scrap metal lying around the place, T-Post for the bottom, and I'll use a chain to attach it to the tree. I'll post pics through tapatalk because I haven't figured our how to start a forum there.

It is heavy, I'm guessing 50 pounds. It is definitely a permanent stand. I'll be building the ladder soon.

The cables are rated for 350 ish pounds. Most the weight will be transfered to the chain and the tree because I plan on sitting most the time.

That looks real good and will last forever. I would use chains instead of the cables though. I have a buddy that made a similar one and he used chains....peace of mind.

Looks good but the cable clamps. Those clamps do not look tough enough to me.
Maybe use chain and bolts instead.

Make sure your saddles are on the live line, not the dead line. "never saddle a dead horse".
