Yep, not so fast on the move:

Arizona State's hiring of current SMU coach June Jones was so done Wednesday folks were already complaining about it. Then it wasn't.

It appears advanced discussions between the school and Jones hit a snag that might not be un-snaggable. Writes Grant Haller of the Arizona Republic: "A source confirmed that both parties were in the process of finalizing the contract's final details when ASU President Michael Crow ended the discussion."

Haller also reported there were "no plan to talk again anytime soon."

It's fair to say the initial reaction to the hiring of Jones was decidedly mixed. Such talk may have come from Sun Devils boosters with access to important ears at Arizona State.

So the coach search in Tempe continues.

You know I get so tired when these guys are hired saying " this is where I want to finish my career " and then a better deal comes along and gone. Don't blame the guy but and don't pretend to know all the facts, but the kids are the ones the get shafted.

smu needs Jones way more than he needs them. i dont know why the folks at ASU would have a problem bringing in jones. i think he would be a good fit there
