    2 Aoudad + fire

Fortunately my buddy & I had an opportunity to hunt Presidio county this weekend for aoudad, mule deer & javelina.
We hunted with bows on Friday but the aoudad wouldn't let us get close enough. So we converted to rifles on the weekend.
First thing Saturday morning I was able to connect on an aoudad at 215 yards with my .270.
We hunted hard the remainder of Sat & the first part of Sunday.
Then late Sunday evening, my buddy connected on his aoudad with his 30-06 at 200 yards as the sun set...beautiful but hard to clean an animal on the rocky slopes in the wind/rain.

***Here is where the story changes: we get back to camp & the tent windows were left down & all our pillows, bags & clothes were wet. So we closed the windows & started a propane space heater to dry stuff out. We then went around the corner to cook up some food in a metal shelter. The wind was so bad that the space heater flipped over & started the whole tent on fire...cots, bags, boots & other items went up in smoke!!!
Thankfully our bows, guns, backpacks & other valuables were in the car & not list to fire.
Thankfully no injuries...someone was watching over us!

Wow....You guys are lucky! Its amazing how fast those type of materials will go up in flames. All things considered, looks like a great hunt.

                    Congrats on the animals.
                    Sorry about the fire.

I have found that large oil drip pans for automobile garage/driveway use work great to set a heater on in a tent.
