Cameron Hanes= Crazy

I'm a pretty big Cameron Hanes fan mainly because of his dedication to bowhunting and the fact that it's not just a fall event to him but rather he trains all year. Also the fact that he hunts in places most of us won't do what it takes physically to get there.
But this video I pulled off his website is nuts

That is a video and definition of a true, dedicated bowhunter, Crazy, yes, but definitley dedicated. How would you like to follow him up the side of a mountain?

Yes he is truely a beast bowhunter but sometimes I think he is a show off. Just like his video posted yesterday of him picking up a deer and throwing it onto his shoulders. What was the point?

wow.. cool.. not sure why he didn't just shoot him again and wait for him to die then drag him back but I wasnt there.. Still, cool that he thought enough of the animal he was taking to try not to kill it in vain..

That dude is an extremely dedicated bowhunter, and outdoorsman. I have a lot of respect for his ability. But I read one of his books that someone gave me a couple years ago about back country bowhunting and put it down half way through. He seems to think that everyone has enought time and resources to do what he does, and there was almost an arrogance about it. I'm sure he's a great dude and all that, but I'd like to think if I had the time he's got to put into something I could be pretty darn good at it too.

It would be cool to be around him OFF camera say around a campfire and found out in maybe a few minutes which way to go. I've had the rare opportunity to be around some of the celebrities the last few years and many are down to earth good folks and some are "actors".

I have met him a few times off camera. He is a great guy but I think this has gone to his head some with the celebrity status.

I fully agree with this. The book does have a lot of good info for anyone looking to do a pack in trip though. Some good tips on hunting elk and mule deer too.

Agree 100%. With family the most important thing in my life and given the dangerous possibility of being pulled over a cliff by a wounded animal, my thoughts would be "NO WAY" am I going to latch on to the horns or antlers. God will know I chose wisely in letting the animal go and He will send others into my hand.

Agree completely. I'm a fan of his but that is just plain stupid. There is not an animal in the world worth risking your life to save the trophy.
