    My Jason Garrett moment…

Big hello to all the guys and galls on the GS. I am new to posting on the GS however I had been lurking around soaking up knowledge for over a year.

OK here is my Garrett moment… I am out hunting a new area today (usual spot taken—public land) as I walk in I come across and “old trail”. No fresh sign and old deer droppings. I also notice multiple trails about 25-30 yds north of the old trail. With limited cover in the area I setup with in a couple yds of the old trail… Right at sun down I spot a yahoo walking out whom I ranged at 600 yds north of me… he spooks multiple does on his way out… As I set my range finder down I hear a rock kick over to my right. Guess the trail was not as old as I thought… Here comes a doe with in twelve yds & the only a bush separates us… It is looking straight at me through the bush trying to make me out. I am frozen still as to not spoke it, wind about 15 mph from it to me… After about five minutes it stomps and blows about fifteen times before it runs of… Question will it come back to that trail anytime soon??? Also, had you guys ever had a deer blow that many times before running of??? Thanks in advance…

lol Been there done that! Not sure I have been stomped at that many times but when they are unsure they can really raise a racket. I wouldn't be surprised if she came back down that trail sooner or later but it might be a while. And welcome!

She will be back. She kept blowing in an attempt to get you to possibly move. She knew somethign wasn't right, she just didn't know what it was.

So you are saying Jason Garrett has to blow as many times as the doe did before he runs away?

Welcome. Try to set up on the other side next time so she will be coming in looking where you were today.
