    Feeder activity

Any body seeing increased buck activity around feeders with the cold weather and possible loss of forage due to cold conditions and most of the Texas ruts winding down ( excluding south Texas)?

Seeing more mature bucks chasing does near my feeders as the rut appears to be in full swing in NW Bandera County.

My son and I hunted this past weekend. It was cold and raining. I can't say we saw more activity, but I was finally able to connect on the buck I have been after. I did have pics of a different buck at 4 different feeders on our place. This wa over a 2 day period he was at 4 different feeders on 730acres. He is a roamer. It looked to me like the mature bucks were wandering around looking for action. I did not see any real chasing of does, just bucks wandering through.

I hunt in Llano and last wknd we had very limited activity....guys seeing nada during an all afternoon hunt...could be the rainy weather but we also thought the rut might be keeping the does on the run and not at the typical feeds as they are being chased by the bucks.

I agree, we are seeing plenty of deer but just wondering whence the big boys will start fattening back up

I'm seeing a lot of activity, but most all bucks have their antlers busted up pretty bad. 10s are now 3 or 4 points, several 8s with main beams busted right at brow tines......

Frustrating, I saw a deer pushing 140 last trip out with a broken G3. I had to pass

bucks are still chasing on our place - does are hitting the feeder every morning and evening until a buck comes through chasing them off into the trees (According to trail camera) It will take a lot more freezing to dill out the vegetation that we have on our place (it will be after the season ends)

Well since we are close to y'all, maybe we will be in the same scenario. Might be an even better hunt.

I might add that the does have never stopped hitting our feeder every morning and evening although everybody elses feeders around us are dead - we are feeding something other than corn though so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not
