I like the 48" dia. Wood fits good and lots of folks can gather round. 15" tall sounds great, are you putting a toe warming ring around it, I would...

great size! That is the size I have at the house. Much bigger and I would blow through too much wood. At the lease we go a little larger since there is no shortage of wood.

Good points made already, size is dependent on wood availability. I have had one for quite a while, 16 years and it has yet to give out. It is 24" pipe cap, 10" deep with a 36" toe warmer ring elevated 6" above the cap edge. It works great and will flat eat wood when it gets going.

It is plenty big enough for several people to sit around and get warm. I would love a bigger model, maybe a 48" or one of those big cauldron styles I've seen in Uvalde but I don't think I could stockpile enough wood to use it.

I have seen a model I like at Home Depot, I think it is 36" and has all the accessories with it, 2 grills and a rotisserie as well as a nice size lip. I think it is a Cattleman's Grill or something like that and sells for $200 Great design but it would need to be made of industrial material to hold up over time. If I get another one built, I would copy that model.

I have a 36" and it's a good size for about 6 people to sit around .... I also like it because we don't have to burn a half cord of wood to cook.

I have and use a backhoes rear tire rim with the center knocked out! I elevate it with brick where air can get to it! I have had it glowing hundreds of time! Lots of Dos Equis, coors light, and makers mark have been drank around it!
