Sorry it took so long to repost but action got going pretty good. We each shot a mule deer doe and my son shot a whitetail buck.
Both does were less than 20 Yds. I hit mine and she ran about 40 Yds.
Bnutz hit his doe and she ran about 20 laid down so he had to put a second arrow in her. Hit her a little far back. His buck was 24 Yds and ran about 50 before it piled up under a cedar tree. All in all it was a blast to be sitting in the pop up together as all this was going on.
I can tell you guys that if you have a chance to sit with your dad do it. We just sit and and chit chat and it's the greatest time I have hunting. I'm 30 years old and still makes me feel like a little kid sitting in the stand with my old man. We r going to head out in the morning and see what else we can fling some arrows at.
Wellington, yes we hunt 4000 acres and we got 8 mule deer Doe permits. It has taken 3 yrs to get them. We tried to get them for bow season but tpw wont give them for any other season other than the general. As you know, not too much of a challenge with those does. But sure is fun...
If you hunt this area send me a pm and I will help you in the right direction on them.
I was through Clarendon twice today, on the way to our game and back home. Weather isn't near as bad as what they said it was gonna be. May be wet tomorrow though! Good luck with the rest of the hunt!!!
