    Help With Age

Im stumped on this deer, Ive never asked for help on a deer's age before but I cant decide on this one. What do you folks think? I know he is close to 20"s wide because Ive had him at 15 yards several times and he is one extremely fat boy and he is well over 200 pounds if that helps on aging. Im trying to decide if he is a shooter for the GF's first trophy or not.

I'd say 4.5 belly brisket stubby legs

The body says 5.5/6.5 but the head looks like he's 4.5. No beginning signs of getting a "stubby" or "roman" nose and fairly tight skin underneath the chin.

This is my problem on aging him, His body says one thing but his head and facial features show something different.

Head says 3.5 to me but that gut says 5.5........ Ill meet in the middle and say 4.5. That snout is just to pointed to be a mature deer (5.5 or older) in my opinion

I almost always trust the head and I do think that deer's head looks younger than his body...but I am going to say he's an older deer. There was one shot like that on the place I hunt last weekend. Looked like a 4 year old but was actually 6 or 7. Just like people, sometimes they can fool you

The brisket depth don't lie, and he is deep chested. That deer is 5-6 yrs old. He carries his chest depth all the way back whereas a 4 1/2 yr old would not. I would take him for sure.

X2, they won't have that depth at young age, I say at least 5.5
