    X bow for my father

Man I'm pumped! My dad called me last night and said he wanted to start hunting with me.
He knows I only hunt with a bow and asked about a x bow because of shoulder problems.
My dad is 72 and was looking for suggestions on a bow that is maybe easier to load and draw.
Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Excalibur, I drew for TPWD crossbow hunt this year and had to buy one. I asked the Gs and looked at a lot of different models. I went with the Excalibur axiom package. $500 for everything u need. Very simple and built like a tank. No cams and strings that go bad after 100-200 shots

tenpoint has put meat in the freezer for me..... the turbo xlt to be exact. a 426 grain arrow flying a legit 315 fps is bad news dude. mad ke for sure! their customer support, warranty department and technical assistance is second to none. they support their own forum which is moderated by staff shooters and employees. if you have a problem rest assured someone else has had it before you. not that i see you having any issue with any of their products, they are truly top notch.

you get what you pay for and they are not cheap. you can get into a titan clx for around 600 bucks, the turbo will run around 900 or so and you can spend up to 2000 for a phantom carbon fusion. however, they do offer the wicked ridge line for entry level shooters just starting out at around 400. if you decide on either i highly recommend having the model equipped with at least an accu-draw 50 cocking device. consistent nocking is just as important with a crossbow as it is with a vertical. the system ensures this feature and also reduces the draw weight by 50%. i pull 90#'s on a 180# bow, i can shoot all day. i've been working on my vertical game lately but will definitely continue to use it, its fun! i decided i wanted to be a multi-facet hunter and it actually got me into vertical hunting.

let us know what you all decide on! but if "your cams and strings" are causing you problems like homeboy said you ain't shootin' no tenpoint!

I got my dad a Wicked Ridge made by Ten Point. He has been more than happy with it.

I got his from David at www.wyverncreations.com I knew nothing about crossbows and he answered all my question.

Excalibur. They are solid limb with no pulleys and very sturdy. They are the toughest, most durable, Xbow on the market, IMO.

dave @ wyvern is good people. he is completely dedicated to all things crossbow. tenpoint also makes another accu-draw system with the hand crank that only requires like 2#'s of force to cycle.

They are on the big side, but I dont have to worry about much, because it is a plain jane Xbow that is accurate and shoots over 310FPS with my 100gr Montecs. Wheels on xbows scare me.
