Luke 1:39-44 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda; 40And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. 41And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 42And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 43And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

Notice the last few words in verse 44. The baby, John, felt joy at the sound of Mary's voice, while in the womb.

        1. The baby could hear.
        2. The baby felt emotion, joy.
        3. The baby reacted to his emotion, leaped.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Eccl 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing,

The baby knew sound, emotion, joy, and an appropriate response to what he heard and felt.

The baby (fetus) must therefore be alive and have a spirit, because the dead don't know anything.

Excellent example right there and especially this time of year when we celebrate Christ coming into the world for us.

Does this make things easier? That is hard to say for each individual but we as men don't understand what women go through in a time like this. It tore my wife up each time it happened to us and there was nothing I could do but turn it over to Christ. He later blessed us with 3 wonderful children so I know it was in his plan. Did he do this because the unborn child might have suffered later on in life? I don't know that either but I have to put my trust in Him.

Still praying for you and that God blesses you beyond your understanding.

I don't know if it helps, but a fetus isn't a fetus until 9 weeks into pregnancy, from 1-8 weeks it is only an embryo, a ball of dividing cells.
