    Kenco Feeder Motor

I was looking into getting a straight shooter feeder motor, so I can set my feeder in the brush and have the corn be in my shooting lane, so the deer are not standing under a feeder. The only reason I am interested in this because I run a feeder year around and get several thousand pics of deer. This year I have started hand corning a place that is 25 yards away from my feeder to try and slow deer down as they come thru my lane. I have gotten several different buck pics at the hand corn that I have not gotten at my feeder. I do not have feeder pens around my feeders. I am hoping this will work like the hand corn that I have been putting out since there will be no feeder the deer have to stand under. I found this unit online and was wondering if any of you have tried it out?

I have one that I used as a fish feeder, feeding off a dock piling. Fed the floating fish food OK--would only throw it about 10' at the most, and if you have coons, (who doesn't?) they will reach in the feed slot and pull the rubber fingers off the feed slinger--

Holler at Mike D on here, He swapped out one feeder to a directional (Not sure which brand) but that thing will throw! You'd better be ready when it goes off cause it will come in the blind with ya.

one thing with the Kenco you can hear that thing go off for a hundred yards or more. LOl they are really loud or the one a buddy had was. It took 2, 6 volt batteries one for the slinger and one for the vibrator motor to keep it from clogging up. Could you not put some type of shield up on a regular spin cast feeder so it just slings in one direction??? Just a redneck thought ......

We had Kenco one ways, the birds pecked the plastic spinners apart getting to the corn. After replacing each spinner a couple of times we went with feeders that sling corn.

had good luck with mine so far. spinner is $1.95 but kenco usually will send them for free if within a year of purchase. takes about 5 min to replace. 2- 6 volt batteries usually last 2 years. (for maximum throwing distance ,mount feeder to the edge of your barrel to avoid the lip.) natchez had them for $29.99 good luck

I've had my Kenco Smart Timer since 1993 and it still goes off every day!

Ive got 2 that i've used for 6 years and they work great. You can pinpoint the direction of the feeder to set up better shot opportunities and the corn lasts forever. I do replace the rubber impeller each year cause they do wear out. I actually installed a digital timer onto mine to control the feeder times and length as opposed to the photocell that is on the unit already.
