As we do every year, Lora and I made our annual trek to Alpine, TX to chase Desert Mule Deer. Alpine had lots of rain this past year and the deer were big and healthy this year.

Does and fawns were everywhere.

6" of snow the weekend before had the tanks full and cows are looking good.

We woke up early saturday morning and started our first walk at daylight. After about a mile of hiking up and down canyons and draws I finally spotted a good buck about 700 yards away. The heavy winds were directly in our face so we started after him. We managed to get within 230 yards of him and Lora made a perfect heart shot dropping him in his tracks. This makes her 6th and biggest mulie to date so he is going on the wall.
