    Alpine, TX Mulies

As we do every year, Lora and I made our annual trek to Alpine, TX to chase Desert Mule Deer. Alpine had lots of rain this past year and the deer were big and healthy this year.

We woke up early saturday morning and started our first walk at daylight. After about a mile of hiking up and down canyons and draws I finally spotted a good buck about 700 yards away. The heavy winds were directly in our face so we started after him. We managed to get within 230 yards of him and Lora made a perfect heart shot dropping him in his tracks. This makes her 6th and biggest mulie to date so he is going on the wall.

Congrats to Lora on her biggest mulie! My dad was in Sanderson this week but haven't heard how his group did yet.

That is great! Congrats to Lora!!!

I have never Mule Deer hunted before, but I bet it's a blast. It's something my wife and I have wanted to do for a long time.

        Great pics!

                    Great Deer.

Chad, we need to go try them with a bow sometime.

No we didn't weigh him but they average close to 200lbs down there, with big ones getting 250 or so.
