my old lady dog had em when i got her. I went to Petco and picked up whatever they had and it worked. no problems since. need to find out what kind of worms your dog has first. so......start digging! then google the poop things and see if PETCO special deals are worth your while.
When I deworm my horses with deworm paste from Tractor Supply, I squeeze a finger full and stick it my dogs mouth, I've never had worm problems or sick dogs. Been doing it for years.
strongid horse wormer for the control of hookworms, pinworms and roundworms. Give about the size of a pencil eraser and your good to go. For heartworms give them Ivomec. 1/10 cc per 10 lbs. of dog weight. Just draw it in a syringe and take the needle off and squirt it in their mouth. Hope this helps.
Most deworming meds are only effective against roundworms and hookworms, but Panacur will kill rounds, hooks, whips and most importantly tapeworms. You can buy a tube of fenbendazole paste (generic form of Panacur) from most feed stores and then measure out the daily dose. You need to give 1 gram per 10 pounds of body weight, once daily, for three consecutive days. Just mix it with a little canned food and it's easy to administer. I usually buy the horse tube when worming one small (20#) dog or a big cattle tube when I'm worming all of my big (120#) dogs.

X2. Just remember, injectable Ivermectin for livestock is definitely NOT injectable for pooches... Like Spencer said, squirt it in their mouth. Tastes terrible so some folks mix it with a sugar solution. Works great for ear or skin mites as well and using these wormers will cost you a fraction of what you'll spend on the stuff from the vet or a commercial pet store.
The suggestions above are "Off-Spec".... but if you're wanting to take care of Round, Hook, Tape and Whip worms... Panacur (Fenbendazole) is sold under the name of Safe-guard.
They make a granular wormer that is put over food for 3 consecutive days. It works really well and is easy to administer.
Should be available at any feed store... or they can get it...
A very important note about Ivomec livestock de-wormer. It will kill some breeds of dogs. Collie types are very susceptible to this. I used this stuff on my coon hounds for years, and it works great, but please do a little research before you give it to your dog.
