Squirrel hunting public land - Recommendations?

Anybody know of a good Public Land spot to bowhunt squirrels?...the closer to DFW the better.

I'd like to spend a day or two thumping a few with my longbow.

Caddo grasslands...need type 2 or whatever they call it...I think the official name is Public Hunting Permit. You can squirrel hunt during deer season, just be careful and try not to tick off any gun hunters. There are several areas of pine tree tracs where few deer hunters go. Good squirrel hunting along creeks but you might find a few gun hunters as well.

Lake Lavon hunting area. All you need is your Hunters Safety if you aren't grandfathered and a free permit from the corp of engineers at the lake office. There is alot of land to hunt around the lake.

This looks like the ticket. Over 6500 acres and close to home...also Collin county doesn't have a closed season
