    Bowhunter Safety class

several of us in Lufkin are wanting to take the bowhunter ed course so that we can apply for the H next year. Looking at TP&W there are only 4 offered from now till next August. Anyone know someone who gives the course that may can give a class somewhere in east Tx? Also, I know you must also take some other sort of shooting course for the H, what is that and where do they offer this at.

Javelin, I'm a first year instructor. As I understand it, the schedules will be set in January. I'm not sure how many instructors would be in your area, but early spring if something could be setup around Richland-Chambers would you be interested? I'll PM you so you will have my contact.

The Dallas area group usually meets after the first of the year and sets a schedule then post it with TPWD. We do some traveling from time to time so lets talk after the first of the year if you can't find one in your area.

The qualifying for H is a standard IBO scoring, 10/8/5/0, with a minimum of 14 deer size targets at no more that 30 yds. Any range officer or IBEP instructor can score you.

Some states and a select few draw hunts in Texas require the educational course. I need to take it as well. Hopefully there will be one at Ccr this spring.

I wouldn't mind taking a class if it's near Lufkin or Nacogdoches

Javelin, Tenrmore and Nitro, I have a contact in your area, I'll see what I can find out.

RonaldB, did you get any information back?

MTN, your close enough to DFW that I think you could do a class close to us. We will have some in the DFW area (unless Yahoo maps lied to me).

Hey Razorback101. I am very interested in taking it here in the Houston area. I may know a few others that would like to join. Can you point me in the right direction or who to contact.

                              Thanks
