I got a Eastman carbon venture Blind with the magnet windows. First time i put it up I went to pull off one of the Velcro shoot through netting and it tore the blind in a perfect 3 inch right angle. I took it down and took it back to the house to send it back and I compared it to my other carbon venture with the zipper windows. It appears to me that the material looked thinner on the new blind. I have been very happy with my other blind and was just wondering if any on had had this problem too. I e mailed Eastman but it is the weekend and haven't heard back yet. anybody had any experience with their customer service?

Dajcentex - I know exactly what you mean. I've only hunted out of mine twice and I'm impressed with the design - I like some of the features better than my Double Bull. BUT the fabric seems so fragile - I'm afraid it's not very durable at all. I poked a couple of holes in it just trying to brush it in. When I tried to pull the shoot-thru netting off a window like you did the fabric on mine started to tear as well. Another example of "you get what you pay for" I guess. At 1/3 the cost of a DB it might still be worth it.

I bought mine over a year ago from Sam's, and it does have VERY thin, fragile material. I like the blind, but *****, it tears by just looking at it! Last year I put it up, did not stake it down very well, ans when I went back two weeks later the wind had blown it over, and it was torn in several places, and a fiberglass rod was broken. I duct taped it back together.
I went to put it up this year, and another fiberglass pole broke. I called the company, and they shipped me two whole new hub systems quickly and free of charge. Well, I went out to the lease to install the new hubs, and guess what? The freakin' thing had blown over again, breaking some ove thos red plastic tent stakes and ripping several LARGE tears! I am disgusted with it ripping. It may not be usable anymore, and I have actually hunted in it twice! It is so large it catches the wind and is hard to stake down securely.

Up date on the Blind, Eastman E-mailed back and said for me to call and set up a replacement. I called today and the good news is that my blind is discontinued and they will upgread me for free. I have to pay the return shipping but I am getting a better blind so i didn't argue about it. good luck to the rest of you!

I have two of the zip up blinds and also bought two of the magnetic window blinds. I do find the magnetic window blind you have is lighter on material than the one's before that. I also had an issue with one of these blinds and they just shipped me a newer upgraded blind without making me return the old one. I must have been lucky.
BTW, I really like the new blind. The material seems much stiffer and really like they way they have staggered the windows allowing for better view. The color of the material is way different from both models but I think it will still blend in well. It is darker brown with more green in them. Good luck.

Yep, I bought one of the magnetic window models of last year. They are a lot lighter and louder material. Poor design. I have 9 of the zipper models and they have held up well. I really see no reason for the magnets or the camera ports in their present location. They are so low that they will shoot into the low weeks and brush I use to hide the blind. I saw one of the new models at the TTH show and it looks like the material is heavier than even the older models.
What moldel did they send as the upgrade?

Continued problems
As a follow up, The new X5 blind I rec'd is a really nice hunting blind. It opens so much easier than any of the CV blinds and the staggered height windows was nice.
On the other hand, the second Carbon Venture blind I bought broke also. I had four of the nipples that fit in the hub completely break off. I have contacted EAstman again so will keep updated on their customer service.
