Terry I have hunted down there a lot, and have never had any trouble in the field, or in camp.

I find that the last thing they want is trouble, or to have attention be brought to them. They, for the most part, want to be on their way with as little trouble as possible.

With all the years I have spent down there, I have never once felt the need to carry a firearm solely for protection…..EVER; even just being just miles from the border.

If you are that worried; by all means pack a pistol, if for nothing more than piece of mind, and to insure a worry-free hunting trip.

I would conceal a pistol just in case you get in the way of a drug mule. Many of them face harsh consequences if their delivery is not made.

I'm from the border, born and raised, some areas are bad some not. If I were hunting Laredo, Zapata area I probably wouldn't go. If I did go I would carry. Good luck and be safe
