does anyone here hunt without feeding the deer or pig?

I have never feed the deer corn or anything else on my property and kill my license fill every year

as far as pig, since I don't live out there I have never really seen them
although I know their are rather large hogs...

but the deer come by for a visit all on their own...aren't they nice...

I used to hunt all the time without feeding anything. Just hunting crops and acorn trees, as well as trails. Used to fill just as many tags. This was during my teens when I didn't have too many dollars.

Use corn now, just because I usually see more deer this way, and it is usually a sure fire way to see something every sitting.

I've hunted several places successfully without feeders or using spot and stalk method. But I prefer sitting in the enclosed blind with a heater and a pile of corn...

o see deer every time, but I may use corn to get the hogs in as I really want to get some, just not much of a cook
I can field dress and clean anything, but I usually let my friend cook and turn some into jerky

I miss feral hog, but is a large hog, boar good eating?
do you cook it like feral hog, I have only done it one way, like a roast in the oven

              I know Javalina isn't good

I prefer the 40-80 pounders myself. Big boars usually get drug off. Buzzards and coyotes have to eat too.

i have the most luck with pigs by spot/stalk near water holes or acorns. i see more pigs while scouting/walking around than at my feeder, but they do like the corn too! as for deer on public land i see the most when walking in/out on horse/fire/high-line trails. a feeder helps to see 'something' pretty regularly though at the lease!

I've hunted in Alabama and they dont allow corn during season. I sat 4 days and never saw 1 dern deer. Heard them but never saw them. To each his own...

It seems like the nighbor property or the deer lease next door is always feeding corn or food plots so the deer are going to go where the food is. So, you have to put some kind of attractant out or all of the deer are going to the neighbors place.
