2003 mercury 150hp value

i found a deal on one that needs a lower unit for 500$
Guy claims it runs great but lower is gone.
He has title. I havent seen but assume it a bay not offshore model.

Either way i figured i could find a good used lower and pop it on and have a solid engine for under 1500$
what you think?
