I had a shot at the biggest pig I have ever seen on our place and shot him right where I was aiming-low and right behind the shoulder and pretty much broadside. The arrow only penetrated 4-5 inches and broke it of running through the bushes. I found a tiny bit of blood but pretty sure he's not dead. What's the recommended shot (besides a rifle of course) on a big pig?

Where to aim on a BIG pig?

I shot the hog in my avatar at 16 yards slightly quartering away with a 335 grain arrow and a 65# bow. This pig is right at 410 on the scale. I got 14" of penetration with a 100 grain Muzzy. He went 60 yards and piled up. So yes, quartering some and right in that crease should do it every time.

But I prefer to shoot the big ones through both shoulders, with a .264 mag, or .444 Marlin.
